TypescriptDaily's 2024 goals and expectations

Change is the only constant; Always change things around to see the benefits!

Happy New Year to everyone! đźŽ‰

I wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous year. I wish all your accomplishments to see the light.

As we bid goodbye to this year 2023, it's time for all of us to look back at our accomplishments and appreciate ourselves for them. In this fast-moving world, it is hard for people to recognize others' accomplishments truly as, they themselves, are running forever chasing their amazing dreams! Well, you can't blame them.

As we do that, let's try to identify the things that worked well for us and try to multiply them going forward. Not just that, we also need to look back at our bad days and understand they happened for a certain reason and find them to improve for the future. Remember, mistakes are always good, but only for the first time. The second time, it becomes negligence or sometimes ignorance.

In this edition, I’m going to go over some of the possible changes that will be introduced going forward for this newsletter. This is done based on the feedback and personal experience running this newsletter since August 2023. Ok, let’s dive in.

Looking back at the last 141 posts of TypescriptDaily, I find these pros and cons.

Pros

  1. I send an email out every day thus making sure you are informed about some tips, tricks, and snippets about Typescript and the like.

  2. I send at around the same time every day ensuring you don’t miss out on reading the editions on time.

  3. I have a varied set of categories that I cover ranging from:

    1. Typescript related articles,

    2. Web-related articles,

    3. Interview preparation articles,

    4. Case Studies,

    5. General News,

    6. What’s the latest?

    7. …

  4. I get consistent open rates every day. Thanks again to all of you for that.

Cons

  1. As the frequency is daily, it is harder to ensure consistency in the language. I have a day job to focus on and also this one and it sometimes loses the quality of the content that I send out.

  2. Sometimes, reading an article every day is too time-consuming for all of you.

  3. The category that I pick may not interest everyone.

While the pros outweigh the cons, I am giving importance to addressing the cons to ensure I don’t compromise on the quality of the content.

With that said, I have decided to change the frequency of the email newsletter from daily to weekly. I know it looks weird given the website is called “TypescriptDaily” but let’s compromise on that and see if that works out well for us.

TypescriptDaily’s Goals for 2024

  1. Send out quality content weekly. Every Tuesday at 5 PM IST.

  2. Have a defined template for the content.

  3. Introduce Referral programs and/or Goodies for you to benefit.

  4. Introduce quizzes/fun coding exercises or challenges of some sort related to Typescript/Frontend.

  5. Open for article submissions from all of you. You can submit any article relevant to the newsletter and they will be reviewed and published entirely in your name and your links (if any). More information will follow on this aspect.

  6. Make the communication bi-directional rather than just from me.

  7. Introduce a Discord group / similar for all of you to get to know each other and interact.

  8. …

I will take this week to refine the template and send out more updates on the above goals in my next newsletter article edition on 9th January 2024 (Tuesday) along with my first tech article for this year.

Please let me know in case you all have anything else to change/include. I’m always open to feedback and suggestions.

Thanks,

Arunkumar Srisailapathi <TypescriptDaily>
